3 Loyalty Programs Every Mom Should Join

Posted on July 28, 2015 by Wendy Krepak

Moms all over want to reduce their spending as much as possible. When you have a family to care for, every penny counts. Even if you aren’t hard for money, there’s always another expense down the line (have you seen how expensive college has become?).

Hopefully by now you have loyalty programs to your local supermarket. Those cards give you quick access to all the store sales. Here are 3 other loyalty programs you should be apart of.

1. Walgreens Balance Rewards

With Walgreens’ Balance Rewards program, you can save money by adopting a healthier lifestyle. You earn points as you spend money and they equate to a dollar amount (you’ll have to see their scale to get the specifics). When you checkout, you can spend those points and save money or let them keep building.

Not only do you earn points by purchasing, but they have a bunch of healthy tasks that also add to your balance, like 250 points for linking a digital fitness device to your Walgreens account, 250 points for setting a healthy goal, or 20 points for walking a mile. You can track these via an iPhone or Android app.

This is a great system for moms because you’ll save money doing many of the things you already do, so it’s essentially free money.

2. Amazon Prime

Even though Prime costs $80 for the year, it still saves you a lot of money if you like to make purchases online. Shipping is free, so you can stock up on household items without going to the store and paying for the shipping. Most people don’t think about buying paper towels or toilet paper online, but why haul them if they can be delivered to your doorstep?

Plus, you can cancel your kids’ Netflix or Hulu subscriptions. Amazon Prime gives you access to a huge selection of movies and TV shows. You also get access to photo storage and songs, so you could cancel those subscriptions if you have any.

3. Starbucks Rewards

I’ve never met a mom who could get through a day without a cup of coffee – especially a mom with young children.

Starbucks Rewards is easy to use. You just register your card online or through their app. Every time you make a purchase, you earn a star. As you earn stars, you become eligible for rewards that are divided into tiers. At the green level (5 stars in a year), you get a free birthday beverage. At the gold level, you get multiple perks, including free in-store refills.

You also get customized offers in your email. For example, if you buy a lot of lattes, you’ll find coupons for lattes. Pretty neat!

Compact Coupon and Card OrganizerWritten by Wendy Krepak, Mom, Entrepreneur and Inventor of Card Cubby, Compact Coupon and Card Organizer

For years, Wendy was losing gift cards, discount cards, loyalty cards, and frequent buyer cards. They were often at home or lost in the depths of her purse. She knew there had to be a better way so she designed Card Cubby, an alphabetized system and was amazed at how easily it worked. Her own mini filing cabinet to replace her wallet. It’s Card Cubby, LLC's mission to provide stylish, quality and money saving items to its customers.
